STELLA LISCHKA PALAGIAN
Date of Passing: Mar 10, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTELLA LISCHKA PALAGIAN Peacefully, at home, where she wished to be, on Saturday, March 10, 2001. She was 73. Stella was a loving mother to Sally (Larry), Adele (Drew), Debora (Garry), Randy (Rina), and Melody; cherished grandmother to Jeffrey, Alison, Jordan, Joshua, Andrew, Katelyn, and Jonathan; dear sister to Elsie, George (Ollie), and Walter (Patricia). She is remembered, too, by nieces, nephews and many members of the Lischka and Palagian families. In her life, Stella married the two men she loved - Herb, the beloved father of her children, and Mike, who shared with her his love of nature and travel. They both predeceased her. Also gone before her were her twin sons; her father and mother; stepfather, brother-in-law Roman; sister-in-law Joanne. Stella devoted her life to her family. She was eagerly anticipating the birth of her eighth grandchild. She found much for which to be thankful, throughout her life, some of which we share with you, on her behalf: I Am Grateful For... Apple trees, Australia, "Amazing Grace". Butterflies, brothers, birthdays. Children, catalogues, contests. Disney movies and doves. Equality, energy, earthworms. Family dinners, flowers, friends. Gardens and goldfinches. Home, health, hope. Industriousness. Joy. Kindness. Love and laughter. Music and memories. Nature, news, neighbours. Oceans and orchids. Pussywillows and paintings. Quiet. Rainbows, rabbits and rainwater. Saturday afternoon tea, sisters, sweet peas. Tulips and travel. Umbrellas. Valleys and villages. Wishes and walking. XOXO. Yardwork. Zest for life. We would like to thank all those who helped mom with her final challenge. The support we received from family, friends, her doctors, the V.O.N., the staff of Seven Oaks Oncology, the many people of the Riverview Palliative Home Care Program was so gratefully received. And to those very special angels among you, who were there for mom and us, our hugs. You have a place, forever, in our hearts. As a tribute to our mothers spirit, plant a flower in your garden, cheer on your grandchildren in their accomplishments, tell your loved ones how much they mean to you. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Friends of the Assiniboine Park Conservatory, 15 Conservatory Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3P 2N5. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service in celebration of Stellas life will be held, in the spring, on Friday, May 11 at 11:00 a.m. Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. (204) 338-0331.
