STEVE MORRIS Peacefully on March 12, 2001, with family at his side, Steve Morris, beloved husband of Gladys, passed away at the Victoria General Hospital, at the age of 82. His memory will be cherished by Gladys, his loving wife of 51 years; daughter Marney McIntosh (Wayne) son Dr. Glenn Morris (Pearl) his grandchildren, Rob and Kim and sister-in-law Chris Morris, as well as many nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Eva; sister Anne Rudolph, and brothers, Peter and Michael. Steve was born in Brandon on December 3, 1918. He received his schooling in Brandon and moved to Winnipeg in 1939. Steve owned and operated Steve Morris Furs until his retirement in 1988. One of Dads most important projects was building the cottage at Traverse Bay with the help of his family. The cottage provided all of us with many cherished memories and allowed Dad to spend many summers with his grandchildren who were his pride and joy. In his spare time, Dad enjoyed gardening and took particular pride growing tomatoes. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Craig Hildahl who went above and beyond for Dad. Thanks also to Dr. Roy Smith, nurses Faye, Linda and Cecille, third floor Victoria General Hospital for their compassionate care and a heartfelt thanks to Fire and Paramedics. We greatly appreciate the efforts of Val, his home care aide and Rosemary, his home care coordinator who made his last months at home happier. In keeping with Dads wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with Father Isidore Dziadyk, OSBM officiating. Private interment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steves memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3B 2H8. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
