ROGNVALDUR ROBERT PETURSSON "ROGGI" June 16, 1941 - March 14, 2001 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Roggi Petursson after a brief illness at St. Boniface General Hospital. Roggi was born June 16, 1941 in Winnipeg where he attended school in St. James. His family moved to Fort Garry where Roggi attended Viscount Alexander High School. He then enrolled in Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba. Roggi moved to Montreal where he attended Sir George Williams University in Retail Management. Upon completion Roggi returned to Winnipeg and worked for Eatons for several years until he moved to Johannesburg, South Africa as a manager for Greatermans Department Store. Roggi returned to Winnipeg where he owned and operated several restaurants, the first one being The Ting Tea Room on Broadway. He moved to Vancouver where he worked in the retail field until his return to Winnipeg. Predeceased by his father Olafur Petursson in 1984, Roggi will be sadly missed by his son Justin Petursson (and Kori) of Vancouver; mother Maude Petursson of Winnipeg; sister Carla McKnight (and Rick) of Matlock, aunt Margret Petursson of Winnipeg. Deeply loved and sadly missed by Denise Copeland. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 21 at 2:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage at Aubrey. We wish to thank the nurses and doctors of Intensive Care at Victoria General Hospital and St. Boniface General Hospital for their care and support. In lieu of flowers those who so wish may make a donation to the Manitoba Lung Association. We will miss you Roggi, go in peace, and dwell with the Lord forever. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
