It always seemed strange to grow up with the same name as "Uncle Jim" and on second thought might have been just as strange for him. Anyway, thie opportunity presented itself to put down something in tribute to him. I always enjoyed being in his presence and eventually tried to be a little like him. That seems a positive from a life. His sense of humour was renowned and he was welcomed at most gatherings because of it. Some of the stories that resulted were almost too outrageous to be true, but then you had to take in to account the "Jim" factor, meaning they probably were. This past summer I managed to visit with Monica who was kind enough to visit when I was passing through Winnipeg. A very good visit that reminded me that I needed to put words down. She too reminded me of Jim. Some mannerisms the same, of course. I miss him, too. A very good man. May he continue to rest in peace.
