VICTOR POMER Founding Member NACO (Retired) Suddenly, at home on Thursday, March 15, 2001, in his 71st year. Beloved husband of Phyllis; loving father of Scott and the late Shaun; stepfather of Angela Simo Brown and Elizabeth Simo; "Poppa" to Brigit and Peter; brother-in-law to Kay Robb of Winnipeg. Predeceased by his sister Anne and brothers, Steve and Allan. Born in Winnipeg, Victor was a member of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra in 1949 until he came to Ottawa as founding member of the National Arts Centre Orchestra in 1969 until his retirement in 1995. Noted violin teacher for over 50 years with former students scattered across Canada. A memorial service in celebration of Victors life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pomer Family Scholarship care of Kiwanis Music Festival Association, 1827 Woodward Dr., Suite 109, Ottawa, ON K2C 0P9 would be appreciated.
