HUGH PATRICK MOLLOY It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Hugh Molloy, on Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at the St. Boniface General Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 75 years, of Winnipeg, Manitoba. He will be sadly missed by his son James and wife Kathy; daughter-in-law Carol; grandchildren, Amber, April, Matthew and Lisa; two sisters, Brenda and Eileen and by numerous relatives and friends from Alberta and Manitoba. He was predeceased by his first wife Rose in 1986, his son Shaun in 1997 and by his second wife Muriam. Hugh served in the Royal Army Service Corps from 1939 to 1945. He served in the Middle East, North Africa, Northwest Europe and was a prisoner of war in 1944 and 1945. Hugh received numerous medals, including 1939/45 Star, Africa Star with 8th Army Clasp, Italy Star and the France and Germany Star. He was known by all his friends as having a great sense of humour. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call for visitation on Sunday, March 18 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojciks Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Ave., at Sharp Boulevard. A funeral service in celebration of Hughs life will be held on Monday, March 19 at 11:00 a.m. in Deer Lodge United Church, 2093 Portage Ave., at Belvidere Street. Interment will follow in the Garden of the Four Prophets in the cemetery of Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. Our family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Cook and staff of the St. Boniface General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in Hughs memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Manitoba Division), 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, Man., R3C 2B7. God looked upon His garden and found an empty space, Then He looked down upon the earth And saw your tired face. He put His arms around you And lifted you to rest, Gods garden must be beautiful, For He only takes the best. He saw the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb, He closed your weary eyes and whispered, "Peace be Thine." It broke our hearts to lose you But you did not go alone, For part of us went with you To Gods garden, your new home. Always remembered and sadly missed by your family.
