Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALVIN DAVID ESAU September 24, 1936 - March 15, 2001 It is with great sorrow that the family announce the home-going of Alvin Esau at the Health Sciences on Thursday, March 15, 2001 following a brief struggle with advanced leukemia. He is predeceased by his parents, Henry (62), Katarina (97), sister Elsie (86) and infant brother John (25). He was born in Central Butte, Sask. and grew up and attended school at Elm Creek, Man. Al took early retirement from Great West Life in 1989 and enjoyed his retirement summers at his cottage at Albert Beach, Man. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his siblings Kay (Jake) Kroeker, Lydia (Fred) Janzen, Hilda (Jack) Janzen, Ernie (Irma) Esau, Henry (Eleonore) Esau, brother-in-law Jake (Nettie) Enns, his sister Paulette (Bob) Giesbrecht and many nieces and nephews. Al had many hobbies which included flying, ham radio operating, fishing, hunting and astronomy. He was a follower of Jesus Christ and is now in His presence. The family wishes to thank Dr. James Johnston and his staff for their compassion and kindness, as well as to extend a special thank-you to the nurses and doctors on the 4th floor at Health Sciences. A celebration of Als life and home-going will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20 at the Elmwood Mennonite Brethren Church, Wpg. with Rev. Keith Poysti and Rev. Neil Funk officiating with viewing prior to the service. Interment will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the Elm Creek Cemetery.
