VIOLET IRENE DOUGLAS (nee BEAN) Violet Irene Douglas (nee Bean) passed away peacefully in Squamish on March 12, 2001. Born in Yorkshire, England on July 23, 1910. Predeceased by her husbands Alexander Barclay McIntosh in 1973 and James Douglas in 1995. Survived by and lovingly remembered by her son Allan (Renee) McIntosh and daughter Doreen (Norman) Barr, all of Squamish, B.C. Affectionately known as "Bic" by her family, she will be sadly missed with cherished memories by all. Beloved grandmother of Brian (Joan) McIntosh, Kellie McIntosh, Allan (Terri) Barr and Scott Barr, all of Squamish, John (Kathy) Barr of Pemberton, B.C., as well as great-grandmother of Colin and Tyler McIntosh, Tricia, Christine and Tyler Barr of Squamish, Amanda and Kory Barr of Pemberton and Christopher Bearss of California. Beloved sisters, Alice (Claude) Hyde of Haney, B.C., Eileen (Ken) McLean of Burnaby; sisters-in-law, Evelyn and Kay of B.C., Frieda and Etta of Winnipeg; numerous nieces and nephews and the Douglas family, Brian (Fran) Douglas and family, Helen Houston and family, Janet (Ted) Myslicky and family and Lee Douglas and family. A service in celebration of the life of Irene will be announced and held at a later date. The family offers their thanks for the kindness, care and love "Bic" received by the wonderful staff at Hilltop House.
