During the war he served in the air force for four years. He was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman. In his younger days he played baseball and hockey. He never missed his sons hockey games. He once owned a Harley Davidson and vowed one day he was going to buy another. He spent many years hunting with his pals. His great passion was for the cottage he built at Nora Lake, Winnitoba in the Whiteshell. He was happy to see a road go into the lake so he was able to drive there when he wanted. He was also a great carpenter. If you needed anything built he was there to build it. He was a devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed.
