HELENE STAINES (nee SEIER) It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Helene Staines on Friday, March 16, 2001 at Concordia Hospital. Helene was born on April 23, 1922 in Wolienien, Poland. With her family she immigrated to Canada in June 1953. A long time resident of North Kildonan and Stony Mountain, Helene was an avid gardener. She also loved cooking, baking, knitting and especially sewing. Helene leaves to mourn her husband of 32 years Alfred; her daughters, Frieda Sehn of Calgary, Alta., Ilsetraut (Murray) Bellavie of Calgary, Alta., and Heidi (Brian) Fox of Gillam, Man.; her grandchildren, David and Michael Sehn, Paul Bellavie and Alexis, Quinn and Aarika Fox and great-grandchildren, David and Devon Sehn. Also left to mourn are her sisters, Leokadia Will, Erna (Julius) Hitzer, Herta (Erwin) Finkel and her brother Robert (Helene) Bauer; also numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Helene is predeceased by her infant son Erich; son-in-law Henry Sehn and brother Reinhardt Seier. Pallbearers are Erich Will, Martin Seier, Rolf Hitzer, Harry Finkel, Norbert Bauer, Gordon Seier, Reinhardt Seier. Viewing will be prior to service. Celebration of Helenes life will be held on Tuesday, March 20 at Klassen Funeral Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Brookside Cemetery officiated by Pastor Bruce Gelhorn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel 338-0331.
