SARAH ANDRINA WILTON (nee FERGUSON) Sarah Andrina Wilton (nee Ferguson) of Brandon, died suddenly on Sunday, March 18, 2001 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Sally was predeceased by her husband W.K. (Bill) Wilton in 1992 and by her sisters, May Thompson, Anne Robinson and Jean Shortridge. Born April 12, 1918 at Portage la Prairie, Sally was the youngest daughter of Andrew and Jeannie Ferguson of Rossendale, Manitoba. She attended school at Rossendale and Portage Collegiate Institute. Sally married Bill Wilton of High Bluff in 1942 and lived in Trenton, Edmonton and Saskatoon before returning to Portage la Prairie. In 1951 Sally, Bill and three sons moved to Minnedosa where Sally was a very active community member, serving, among others, as Cub Scout leader and active church member. In addition, she added two more sons to her brood while in Minnedosa. In 1958, the family moved to Brandon where Sally continued to be an active community and church member. Moms unselfish quality of helping others without question of recognition touched many. She had the endearing quality of making everyone comfortable in her presence and welcome in her home. By example she taught her family to accept responsibility in their public and private lives and always encouraged and supported them. The accomplishments of her family were the measure of Moms success. Mom enjoyed many summers at Clear Lake and winter vacations in Florida. She also enjoyed her bridge club, golf and bowling. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her five sons, Bill (Peggy) of Winnipeg, Andy (Kerry Moore) of Brandon, Jim (Angela) of Bracebridge, ON, Ted (Jennifer) of Winnipeg, Murray (Holly) of Maitland, Florida; 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 339-12th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, on Thursday, March 22 at 2:00 p.m. with Arlene Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at the Brandon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sally may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements are in care of Brockie Donovan, 727-0694.
