FRANK PATEK 1914 - 2001 On Monday, March 19, 2001, after a brief battle with cancer, Frank Patek passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital at the age of 86 years. Left to remember him with love are his wife of 59 years, Marie; daughter Sharon (Doug) son Ed (Susan) sister Bertie; grandchildren, Jeffrey Bell, Lindsey Bell and Mark Patek. Frank served in the R.C.A.F. during the Second World War. After his discharge, he worked for Winnipeg Transit as a welder and sheet metal worker. Retiring after 28 years gave Frank the opportunity to enjoy the loves of his life, his three grandchildren, his music and his many crafts. He was also able to take several trips across Canada and the U.S.A. In accordance with Franks wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal funeral service. There will be, however, a gathering of family and friends for a celebration of Franks life on Thursday, March 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Franks family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Darcy Johnson and the nurses and staff at Concordia Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the charity of ones choice or to the CancerCare Manitoba in Franks memory. Soar with the wind, Dear Heart! Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 MAIN STREET 338-7111
