Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIE ANTOINETTE (ANNETTE) FILBY (nee GENTES) It is with great sorrow that the family announces the death of Annette Filby at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre on Tuesday, March 13, 2001 with her loving son Bud at her side. Annette was born in St. Vital, Manitoba on June 13, 1915, the eldest daughter of Philippe and Ernestine Gentes. Annette was predeceased by her husband Arthur Filby (Scotty), as well as by her parents; her brothers, Louis and Ernie Gentes and her sister-in-law Lorraine. She is survived by her sons, Bernard (Bud) and his wife Ruth, Raymond (Jan), Gerry (Leslie), and Jim as well as 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Irene (Dave) Boiteau and many nieces and nephews. Annette was an honorary life-time member of the Fort Garry Legion. She worked for many years at Quintons and was a long time resident of Waterford Ave., where she was known for her wonderful soup, her crocheted blankets and booties, her sense of fun, and her warm and welcoming ways. Until illness dictated otherwise, she enjoyed spending her summers at the family cabin at Grand Marais, Manitoba. The family would like to thank the staff at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre for their wonderful compassionate care of our mother. Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held at St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Highway on Monday, March 19 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Patrick Morand officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens at 3:30 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined, however, your attendance, prayers and companionship would be most welcomed and appreciated. "Fais Do Do" Mom Grandma God is with you. Rest in Peace.
