ETHEL LINDSAY (LENTON) On March 19, 2001, Ethel (Lenton) Lindsay, aged 91 years, passed away at the Emerson Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd; grandson Wade Lemay; sister May Neufeld and her husband John; nephew Reg Neufeld; brothers-in-law, John Lindsay, Don and (Louise), Allan and (Phylis) sisters-in-law, Elma and (Bill) White, Edna and (George) Lendrum and Louise Lenton. Ethel is survived by her son Terry; daughter Maureen and husband Marc; granddaughters, Erin and friend (Jerry) and Lori; brothers, Wally (Margaret), George (Margaret), Don (Elsie) sister Marge; sister-in-law Rita Lindsay; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Ethel Lenton was born in Ridgeville, MB on December 30, 1909 and spent her early childhood growing up in the Emerson-Ridgeville area. She spent her adolescent years in Portage la Prairie and moved back to Ridgeville to work in the Post Office, as a young woman. There she met Lloyd and married on October 7, 1933. They spent their married life farming and raising their family. Mom was an avid gardener and loved her flowers. She enjoyed nature and loved to watch the birds at the feeder in front of her kitchen window. She passed many hours doing needlework and leaves many beautiful memories to cherish. Mom was a member of the Ridgeville Curling Club, St. Marys Anglican Church, Anglican Church Women and longtime member of the Eastern Star. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed life to its fullest. She will be missed by all. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 23 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Marys Anglican Church in Ridgeville, with interment to follow in the Southridge Cemetery. A big thank you to all the doctors and staff at the Emerson and Morris Hospitals, also to her Home Care workers and staff, for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Emerson Palliative Care Unit. Wiebe Funeral Home Altona 204-324-5404 in care of arrangements.
