In 1922 her parents moved the family back to their native Belgium. They returned to Winnipeg in 1924 and owned a farm on Waller Avenue. Mom loved living and working on the farm and she especially loved riding her horse, Neller and playing with her collie, Pandoor. On November 1, 1941, Mom and Dad were married in St. Vital Roman Catholic Church. The newlyweds settled in Fort Garry and lived there their entire married life. She was a wonderful wife and mother and her husband and family were always her first priority. Mom took pride in her home and garden and loved crocheting and making clothes for her daughter and granddaughters. Mom was an active member of the St. Vital Parish Catholic Womens League and the Manahan Social Club. Mom and Dad loved to travel and enjoyed the many trips they took over the years, especially those to Hawaii, the Caribbean and Europe. Many thanks to the healthcare workers Edie and Anna, whose help allowed Mom to return home following her initial hospitalization. Special thanks to the wonderful caring staff of the Golden Door Geriatric Centre where Mom spent her final months. Mom, you were the most loving and generous mother and grandmother anyone could ask for. Thank you, Mom, for being there when we needed you, sharing our laughter and our tears, and for being our best friend. We will miss you and remember you always. May you join Dad in the arms of God for all eternity. We love you. Prayers led by family friend Rev.
