JOHN (JACK) WILLIAM KEARNS VAN NORMAN Peacefully on Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at the Grace General Hospital, with his family by his side, Jack passed on to Heaven at the age of 75 years and resided in Winnipeg, MB. Jack is survived by Marjorie, his loving wife of 40 years; his children, Robert and Dawn; grandsons, R.J. and Kalvin; brother Murray (Betty) nephews, Jeff (Juanita) and Blair (Leanne) and by many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John in 1978 and Pearl in 1985. Dad was born on February 19, 1926. He worked for the St. James School Division until his retirement in 1990. He loved working on outdoor projects and was always willing to lend a hand to others whenever needed. In summer, he enjoyed golfing and just taking in the scenery. Dad really appreciated the beauty of nature and our Creator who made it all. He was very loving and kind hearted, anyone who met him soon realized this and appreciated his easygoing friendly manner. Despite injuries from a fall in 1996, he always maintained a cheerful positive attitude. Dad would not let his limitations stop him from doing what he wanted to do and would often do more than he probably should have. Jacks Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 26 at 1:00 p.m. in the Deer Lodge United Church, 2093 Portage Ave. at Belvidere Street, Winnipeg, MB. Our family would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to Shirley, one of his caregivers and neighbours.
