Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN (JACK) STANLEY WAGER With deep regret and sorrow we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, John Stanley Wager on March 20, 2001, age 62. John will be sadly missed by his wife Katherine; sons, Darin (Christine) and grandchildren, Gary, Christine and great-granddaughter Carmen and John (Chantal) and grandchildren, Eric and Nadine; brother George (Dora) and many nieces and nephews. John was born May 23, 1938 in Montreal, Quebec. He was predeceased by his father John Stanley in 1951 and his mother Daisy Elizabeth Jane in 1954. John was employed by Maclaren Advertising before moving to Winnipeg in 1958. He was employed by the Winnipeg Free Press for 32 years, first as a District Manager and later as Circulation Supervisor until 1994. He was also a volunteer fire fighter for the North Kildonan Fire Department. John played hockey with the Montreal Nationales and later coached in the North Kildonan area. He loved to travel and golf was his passion. He wanted one day to buy a motor home and golf. He loved the mountains. He made many dear friends over the years and to those who knew him, he was a warm, kind and gentle man. To honour Johns request, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. There will be a celebration of his life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Johns memory to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, R3A 1P6. The family wishes to express their thanks to the nurses and staff at the Concordia Hospital for their unrelenting care and devotion to John during this most difficult time. Thank you for allowing his wife to stay at his bedside until the end. John, I Will Love You Forever and Always Goodnight Sweetheart. Katherine
