EVA OTULAK (nee MARKEWICH) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved mother and grandmother, Eva Otulak, at the age of 86, on March 20, 2001, at the Concordia Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Joseph on August 29, 1987, she leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Carol and husband Matt Fill, Lorna and husband Jerry Weremy; five grandchildren, Brian Fill and wife Doris, Daryl Weremy and Denise, Mark Weremy and wife Cathy, Kim Feniuk and husband Ted, and Karen Beilman and husband Rick; seven great-grandchildren, Kevin and Jason Fill, Shawn and Lance Weremy, and Craig, Courtney and Kristen Feniuk. Eva was born in Libau, MB, on April 11, 1914, where she was raised, received her education and was married. In 1956, they moved to Winnipeg, where she worked in several garment factories. She was an excellent seamstress, avid gardener, beautiful knitter of sweaters and afghans, some of which she donated to charity. She was very generous and loved to cook and to have the whole family together for holiday dinners, which we will all miss. She enjoyed the St. Alphonsus perogy making, and also enjoyed playing Bingo. Prayers will be held on Thursday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Munroe and Brazier. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, March 23 at 10:30 a.m., also at the church, with Fr. Greg. Mulligan, OFM, Cap. presiding. Interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Evas memory to a charity of ones choice. Special thanks to the many people involved in Moms care, Dr. Kathy Kisil, medical and nursing staff at the Concordia Hospital and to Brother Greg for his spiritual support.
