Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH GEORGE VAN STEELANT Peacefully on March 21, 2001, with his family by his side, at Concordia Hospital, Dad passed away at age 85. He was born September 5, 1915 on the family farm, 26-12-2E in the RM of Rosser. The eldest of four children. Joseph leaves to mourn his wife Edna; son Art (Sandra) grandson Miles; stepson Bill (Jan) stepdaughters, Gloria (Ron), Joyce (Bruce) sisters, Margaret and Alice (Rens) sister-in-law Greta as well as his nephews, nieces and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Ruby and brother Edmond. Farming was Dads life. Airedale Dairy was his pride and joy. A special partnership with his brother-in-law Randy Rossnagel allowed each to succeed at mixed farming. Dad retired from the farm to conclude his work career with Winnipeg Enterprises. Dad had a place in his heart and a genuine interest in the welfare of every one in his family. He especially enjoyed visits with family and friends and rarely missed his daily chat with his sister Margaret. A special thank you is extended to everyone who called in on Dad at home and visited him during his hospital stay. A special thank you to the staff in observation and on 3 West at Concordia for the care and compassion afforded Dad. A memorial service will be held at the Stony Mountain United Church, Saturday, March 24 at 2:00 p.m. Debrah Vitt will officiate. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in Josephs memory to a charity of their choice. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, in care of arrangements.
