Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHYLLIS HUTTON Peacefully on March 25, 2001, at Victoria General Hospital, Phyllis Hutton, aged 79 years, passed away after a courageous battle with heart disease. Phyllis was predeceased by her beloved husband John. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Nora (Maurice) Kaye and Nancy Wilson; her son Larry (Shelagh) grandchildren, Robert and Christopher; her sister Nora (Alec Kirk) and her sisters-in-law, Nell English and May McRae. Phyllis was born in Hamiota, MB on June 22, 1921. She completed her high school education at Hamiota and then went on to take education and teach in rural Manitoba. On August 11, 1945, she married John Hutton and moved to Clanwilliam, MB, where, as his partner and best friend, they farmed until 1987. Phyllis will be best remembered for her love of sewing her other creative talents, her passion for classical music, and reading, her enjoyment of winters spent in Texas, summers spent at the lake, and her willingness to encourage and support her family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Roy Smith and the nurses and staff of Unit 3 and MRU at Victoria General Hospital who cared for Phyllis with understanding and compassion, as well as Rev. Ron Long and the wonderful staff at Portsmouth Retirement Residence. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 29 at 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8. We will miss you and always love you, Mom.
