Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGISLI ROY ANDERSON On Monday, March 26, 2001, at the Johnson Memorial Hospital, Roy Anderson, aged 63 years, of Gimli, Man. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 43 years, Ruth; daughters, Kerry Dankochik (Glen) and Joan Haas (Dwayne). He was a loving Afi to Matthew, Craig, Meghan, Brent, Kevin and Michael. He is survived by his sisters, Shirley Disney (Bill) and Louise Hill (Doug) brother Leonard; sister-in-law Carol, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Roy was predeceased by his parents Gilli and Stina Anderson. Roy was born on July 19, 1937, in Gimli and was a lifelong resident of the community. He enjoyed hunting, fishing at Willow Island, curling, and spent many years as a commercial fisherman on Lake Winnipeg. He worked at Seagrams for 17 years until retiring in 1991 due to ill health. Roy truly loved the outdoors and spent many happy hours in his backyard, gardening and tending to his fruit trees. He especially loved the times spent with family, in particular his precious grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 30 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli with Pastor George Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Husavick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Community Health Centre, Fund Raising Initiative, Box 1710, Gimli, Man., R0C 1B0.
