"We who know and love Bess are both saddened by her passage across the veil, but we rejoice in the memory of her warm, loving, happy and cheerful spirit. Bess fought valiantly against a weak heart and Alzheimers, and triumphed over both by picking the time and place of her passing. Bess can be proud of many great accomplishments she attained in her long life. She was a good wife, a wonderful mother and a dear friend to all who knew her. Bess was a longtime employee of Woolworths and was most proud of being awarded the title of "National Employee of the Year," recognized by her employers and customers alike for her efficiency, her long faithful service and her congeniality. She was a true North Winnipeg treasure who lived all the days of her life with a deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ and the eternal joy and comfort He would one day bring her. Bess, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend....rejoice, for that time is now."
