ELIZABETH (BETTY) LOEPPKY June 3, 1919 - March 27, 2001 After an extended hospital stay at Concordia Hospital, Betty passed away at the age of 81. She was born in Swift Current, Sask., and moved to Winnipeg with her family as a young child. She worked for 30 years with Merchants Consolidated before retiring in 1984. She enjoyed travelling, darts, bowling and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by one brother John (Edith) two sisters, Anna (Frank) and Leah as well as nephews, Ken (Pat) and Ron (Laurie) nieces, Helen (Curtis), Julie (Grant), Barbara (Eugene) and several great-nephews and great-nieces. She was predeceased by her longtime companion Melville Doughie; brothers, Peter, Jacob, Isaac and sister Susan. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the N1 South at Concordia Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 31 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance. In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away, You suffered much in silence, You fought so hard to stay. You faced your task with courage, Your spirit did not bend, But still you kept on fighting Until the very end. God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around you, And whispered, "Come with Me."
