SIGURDUR PAUL (SIGGI) HALLSON Peacefully on March 28, 2001, at the Eriksdale Personal Care Home, at the age of 79 years, Sigurdur Paul (Siggi) Hallson, passed away. Siggi was born on February 22, 1922 in the Darwin district. He farmed all his life on the family farm in Vogar, MB, until retiring in 1995. He continued to live on the farm, until moving to the Eriksdale Personal Care Home on March 15, 2000. Siggi happily married Margaret Edwards on November 16, 1974. Throughout his life, Siggi was known for his kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone. He loved animals. He owned a dog whom he named "Blackie". In the spring he looked forward to the calving season. Siggi lived his life to the fullest, doing what he did the best - farming. Siggi was predeceased by his wife Margaret on September 28, 1993, his father Stefan in 1946 and his mother Unnur in 1985; brothers Gislie in 1990, Simundur in 1993; sisters Erica in 2000 and Hazel in 1973; four sisters-in-law Rose, Florence, Leona, and Mary, and two brothers-in-law Edward and Barney. He leaves to mourn his step-daughters Joanne and Colleen and his step-grandson Matthew, his brother Steve (Elsie), brothers-in-law Ferdie Hofteig, Joe Edwards, Lawrence Mousseau, George (Millie) Missiabit, sister-in-law Maggie (Jimmy) Dunn, along with many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Friends and relatives may pay their respects between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 30, at the Arnason Funeral Home in Ashern. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, at the Vogar Community Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the hall. Interment to follow in the Vogar Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Shawn Mousseau, Shaun Hunter, Delbert Mousseau, Vernon Mousseau, Daryl T. Swan and Jimmy Dunn Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Maggie Dunn, Joe Edwards, Lawrence Mousseau, Jeremy Edwards and Herman Mousseau. The family would like to take this time to thank the staff at the Eriksdale Personal Care Home and the Eriksdale Hospital for their excellent care.
