Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryETHEL THERESA KERNAGHAN (nee EASTVELD) After a courageous battle with cancer, Ethel Theresa Kernaghan passed away on March 27, 2001, at the Grace Hospital, at the age of 78 years. In addition to many friends, she leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Phil and wife Deb, Greg and wife Anni; and grandchildren, Jaakko, Maria, Brendan, Kari, and Melanie; six sisters, Bridgette, Margaret, Beatrice, Rosemary, Gladys, and Patty; and five brothers, Pat, Jim, Dan, Mark, and Paul. She was predeceased by her husband Milton; her parents, Willis and Bridgette Eastveld; and sister Agnes; and brothers, John, Sydney, and Willis. Ethel was born in Winnipeg on November 2, 1922, and often spoke of the many memories she had growing up with 15 brothers and sisters. She married Milton in 1951. Ethel took great pleasure in the roles of mother and grandmother, and into each role poured great devotion and care. Ethels faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life and many would attest to her faithfulness in prayer on their behalf. She supported several Christian missions and enjoyed travelling to other countries. Many have been the recipients of her creative knitted sweaters, baby outfits and doll clothes. She had a special smile and believed in the value of hugs! We are going to miss you Mom! The family would like to thank Drs. Harris and Borrett and the marvellous staff at the Grace Hospital, 4th Floor West, for their compassion and dedication, and for the many family and friends whose visits with Ethel brought encouragement and support. A celebration of Ethels life will be held on Saturday, March 31 at 2:00 p.m. at East Kildonan Baptist Church, 700 Watt St., Winnipeg, with Pastor Paul Clerc officiating. Viewing will be held at the church from 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Operation Mobilisation, 212 West St., Port Colborne, ON L3K 4E3. Arrangements by Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
