HALLUR HELGASON On March 26, 2001 at age 53, Hallur Helgason (our precious Halli Balli Boo) of Winnipeg, formerly of Riverton, Man., left us after a very valiant struggle with emphysema and cancer. On the outside it may have seemed like Halli did not accomplish very much in life. We think he got it right. He had a very good soul and we will miss him very much. He joins in Heaven our mother and father, Bergros and Adalsteinn; sisters, Fern and Kristjana and brother Halfdan. Left to remember and love him are sisters, Eleanor (Paul), Geraldine and Rosalyn; brothers, Carl (Andrea), Robert (Anne), Gerald and Kenneth. Halli also had a lot of nieces and nephews whom he loved. Burial of ashes will will be at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 31 at Riverton, Man., Cemetery. Service will follow at Riverton-Hnausa Lutheran Church at 2:00. Thank you to the doctors and nurses at Health Sciences Centre. Gilbart Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
