Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS MAYRS BADGER Born April 10, 1916 in Winnipeg, MB, died March 23, 2001 in Comox, BC. He devoted his life to serving the needs of others as a minister in the United Church of Canada. Through 41 years in the ministry, he touched the lives of countless individuals and families. Toms pastorates included: Norwood United 1945 - 1956 (Winnipeg) Shaughnessy Heights United 1956 - 1970 (Vancouver) and Pleasant Heights United 1970 - 1980 (Calgary). A man of great energy, intelligence, and dedication, his leadership was valued. He served in numerous executive positions in the community and in the church including President of the B.C. Conference and on the Executive of General Council. He received an honorary doctorate from the University of Winnipeg. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret; his daughters, Colleen Cote of San Diego, CA, and Kate Schneider of Comox, BC; his son Paul of Burnaby, BC; nine grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Predeceased by his daughter Janet. He will be missed immeasurably. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Mission and Service Fund of the United Church of Canada, 3250 Bloor St. W., Etobicoke, ON M8X 2Y4. A memorial service for Tom will be held at Comox United Church, 250 Beach Dr., Comox, BC, on Friday, April 6 at 2:00 p.m.
