QUEENIE PHELPS Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 27, 2001 at Third Crossing Manor, Gladstone, Queenie Phelps, age 89 years, formerly of Austin. Queenie was born on August 26, 1911 in Tottenham, England. The family immigrated to Canada when she was a young girl. They settled in Austin, Man., where Queenie received her education. She remained in Austin most of her life before moving to Grafton House in MacGregor for a time. She moved to Third Crossing Manor on March 31, 1993. Predeceased by her husband Harry, daughter Esther and grandson Kent, she leaves to mourn her passing her son-in-law Ron Radford of MacGregor; grandchildren, Debbie and Cal Spratt of Portage la Prairie, Lorna Hiebert of Portage la Prairie and David and Sherrie Radford of MacGregor; great-grandchildren; one sister Bea Crawford of Miniota; as well as members of her step-family and her nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 31 at 2:00 p.m., in the Austin United Church with Rev. Quentin Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Austin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to Third Crossing Manor, Box 539, Gladstone, MB R0J 0T0. Clarkes Funeral Home, Gladstone and MacGregor in care of arrangements.
