MERLE CATHERINE UDELL (nee JACKSON) On Thursday, March 29, 2001 at the Deer Lodge Centre, Merle died at the age of 57 years, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, formerly of Calgary, Alberta. Remaining to forever cherish Merles memory are her two sons, Gerald Udell (Gail Lajoie) and Blair Udell; grandchildren, Kelsey and Kayla Lajoie; sisters, Eileen Jackson of Regina, Saskatchewan, and Shirley (Joe) Zanolini of Surrey, British Columbia; as well as numerous cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, James Edward and Marion Katherine Jackson; grandparents, Garnet Alexander and Ellen Rutherford Handford; and by her brother James Wendell (Jim) Jackson. Merle was born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan on August 5, 1943. She attended public and high school in Indian Head, followed by Teachers Training in Regina and a year at the University of Alberta. She had a vivacious personality and a great sense of humour, an infectious laugh and an appreciation for family and friends. Merle was a dedicated and loving mother, daughter and sister, who will be greatly missed by all of her family and we will cherish the memories of her. A Funeral Service celebrating Merles life with interment to follow will be held in Indian Head, Saskatchewan.
