HOWARD HERBERT (HERB) MORASH It is with great sadness that the families announce the passing of Herb Morash on March 28, 2001 at the age of 78, after a courageous battle with cancer, at home, peacefully, with his loving wife at his side. He was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Elizabeth Morash; brothers, Maynard, Palmer, Doug and Gordon; one sister Beattie Holman; grandson Jason Bagamery and granddaughter Shawna Suchelniski. Herb is survived by two brothers, Syd (Eva) Morash (Prince Albert, SK) and Bob (Delores) Morash (Prince Albert) one sister Pat Haylor (Prince Albert) sons, Lionel (Therese) Morash (Edmonton, AB), Gary (Susan) Morash (Calgary) and Terry (Claire) Morash (Saskatoon) daughters, Donna (Ken) Bagamery (Indian Head, SK) and Debra Morash (N. Battleford, SK) grandchildren, Randy, Craig, Erin and Meagan Morash, Jennifer and Kristoffer Morash, Casper, Jody and Samantha Bagamery, Everette, Tammy, Troy and Tyrell Morash, Richard Hoffer, Amber and Scott (Leanne) Morash; great-grandchildren, Quintin Bagamery, Jarred Morash, Kaila and Alora Hoffer and Nadine Morash; his loving wife Esther; son Van (Heidi) Morash (Winnipeg) step-children, Alan (Jay) Doe (Winnipeg), Alane (John) Cohen (Barrhead, AB) granddaughters, Terra (Jessie) Johnson, Sherry, Allision and Lindsay Cohen; numerous nieces and nephews. Herb served in the Second World War in the Royal Canadian Corp of Engineers, holding a rank of Staff Sargeant. He worked for Lallemand before establishing his own business, Mor Sales in 1959 until his retirement in 1986. He was an avid sportsman, playing, coaching and managing in ball, curling and bowling. He was the Manager of the West End Bantam Girls in 1970 and President of the Brooklyn Curling Club for 4 years. His greatest achievement in 1944 was winning the Golden Gloves, Heavy Weight Champion Eastern Command. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, April 2, at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. The family wishes to thank Dr. Cook and Dr. Kerr, Palliative Care Unit, St. Boniface Hospital and CancerCare Clinic. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Herbs memory to the CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Stn. Main, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 9Z9 or to a charity of ones choice.
