CAROLYN MAY BELL (nee SWAIN) Carolyn May Bell, dearly beloved wife of the late William (Bill) Bell (deceased August 26, 1967), passed away peacefully on March 21, 2001. Carolyn was born in Morris, MB on April 15, 1911 and married Bill on February 6, 1954 and lived in Winnipeg. Carolyn lived at Lions Manor on Sherbrook Street in Winnipeg for many years and spent her last few years at Kildonan Personal Care Centre. Carolyn was the youngest daughter of the Walter James Swain family of Morris. She was predeceased by her eldest brother Andrew James, and Frank David Swain. Carolyn was the last direct member of the Walter and Sarah (Hayward) Swain family. Carolyn is fondly remembered by her dearly beloved nephew Robert (Bob), his wife Linda, and their daughter Cindy, and son-in-law Doug and son Michael, all of Winnipeg. She also leaves her beloved niece Ina Mazinke; and nephews, Larry, Earl, and Clare Swain, and their families. As well, niece Barbara Nowick and Kathryn of Coquitlam, BC; and nine great-nieces and nephews. During the Second World War, Carolyn nursed in Great Britain with postings in Scotland and England. Carolyn was an LPN and nursed for many years at the Womens Pavilion at the Winnipeg General Hospital. She also served as the President of the LPN Association. She was a longtime member of and worked for the Knox United Church on Home Street and Maryland. She retired from Knox church in 1992. The family wishes to thank Dr. Regir, Kim Knott and all the kind and caring staff at Kildonan Personal Care Centre for her excellent care. Special thanks to Linda Smith who was not only Carolyns caregiver and friend, but was also a source of great support to the family. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4 at Thomsons Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
