IMMANUEL MEYERS Immanuel Meyers, late of Mission, BC and formerly of Lac du Bonnet, MB, passed away March 22, 2001 at the Mission Memorial Hospital in his 82nd year. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret; sisters, Molly Torence, Mary and Hilda Meyers and Martha Hooper; his brothers, Adam, Bob and Albert Meyers. Immanuel is survived by his sons, Robert and wife Carolyn, Gerry and wife Susan; grandson Robert Gary and his wife Teresa and their two daughters, Helena and Margaret and grandson David Alan and his wife Lori. Immanuel was born in Winnipeg and served in the Canadian Navy from 1942 to 1945. He was employed in the Automotive Industry where he spent 19 years with Empire Radio and Auto Supplies and ten years with North End Tire. He and his wife Margaret then moved to Lac du Bonnet, MB and opened their own business - Meyers Home and Auto in 1964. Several years later he closed the business and took a part time position driving a school bus and caretaking at the local school until his retirement in 1983. Immanuels happiest times were spent fishing goldeyes in front of his house on the Winnipeg River, and a close second, his time spent raising many litters of Dachshund puppies. In 1998 Immanuel moved from Lac du Bonnet to Mission, BC to be closer to his family. In the short time he spent in Mission he made many friends. He will be sorely missed by all. A reception will be held at the Niakwa Inn, 20 Alpine Ave., St. Vital in the Saphire Room in memory of Immanuel, on Saturday morning, April 7 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, a donation to The Third World Eye Care Society, 2453 Commercial Dr., Vancouver, BC V5N 4B8 would be greatly appreciated.
