OLIVE MARY SPEAREY (nee MILBURN) It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Olive fought her lymphoma with courage, hope and inner peace until she was taken from us April 1, 2001 to become an angel with our Lord in heaven. She was an inspiration to all who loved her and supported her during this most difficult time in her life. Olive was born in Winnipeg, Man., on July 17, 1934 to Katie and Ernie Milburn. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Karen (Stephen) Moncrief, Shauna (Lyle) Paddock and her five grandchildren, Amber, Aaron, Brady, Brock and McKenna. She is also survived by her brother Roy (Michaele) Milburn, stepmother Wilda Milburn and her loving husband Stan Krawchuk. Her family would like to express sincere gratitude to Dr. J. Johnston of CancerCare Manitoba, and Dr. Deong and Dr. du Plooy of Brandon, Man., for their valiant attempt to prolong Olives life. Also to the staff on D4 of the Health Sciences Centre and the Palliative Care Staff of the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon for their excellent care, kindness and compassion. We also thank the many friends and relatives for their prayers, cards, flowers, phone calls and visits. As per Olives wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Rivers United Church on Thursday, April 5 at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Glenna Beauchamp officiating. Interment to follow in Rivers Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Olives memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, Man., R3E 0V9 or to Westman Dreams For Kids Foundation Inc., 1435 Princess Ave., Brandon, MB R7A 0R6. Arrangements are in care of Brockie Donovan, 727-0694.
