GEORGE KOWALUK After a lengthy illness, George passed away peacefully on March 30, 2001 at Meadowood Manor Nursing Home, he was born in Winnipeg, September 15, 1915. George was predeceased by his loving wife Jean; brothers, Bill and Nick; Jeans parents, the Barluks and his parents, the Kowaluks. Surviving are his sister Lena; friend Ida and nieces and nephews. George lived in Winnipeg most of his life, with the exception of a few years in Fort Frances, ON. and five years at the Toronto Sanatorium. He was employed by several firms in Winnipeg but spent quite a few years as custodian at Seven Oaks School Division, retiring from there in 1981, one year after his wife Jean passed away. Georges hobbies were limited as he became physically handicapped in retirement. Knitting scarves and fancy mens socks were a pastime, as well as reading the newspapers quite thoroughly. Georges fondest memories were of his wife Jeans wonderful cooking and baking, a great homemaker. Private memorial service will be held at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg. We wish to thank the fine staff at Meadowood Manor, St. Annes Road for the loving care George was given. BARDAL FUNERAL HOME 843 Sherbrook Street, 774-7474
