Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAROLINA ROMEO (nee CIANFLONE) It is with great sadness that the family of Carolina Romeo announces her passing on Monday, April 2, 2001 at the Grace Hospital. Carolina was born in Amato Catanzaro, Italy on January 29, 1910. She came to Canada in 1932 to reside with her husband Tommaso and family. Carolina was a devoted mother and wife. Her family and friends meant everything to her. She loved gardening and Moms flower garden was something to be admired. Summer was her best part of the year, where we would sit in the kitchen and coffee would be on as soon as we walked in. We loved her serenity and her kindness and we will all miss her. Carolina was predeceased by her mother and father, Caterina and Guisseppe Cianflone of Amato Cantazaro; as well as brothers, Mario, Donato, Guisseppe; and sister Tommasina. She is survived by her daughters, Elvira (Ralph) Cantafio, Leonora (Benito) Vergata, and Maria (Ugo) De Nardi; grandchildren, Mary Louise Cantafio, Caroline Cantafio and Ralph (Laurie) Cantafio, Martino (Brenda) Vergata, Teresa (Ian) Smith, Thomas (Lesley) De Nardi, and Liana De Nardi; great-grandchildren, Shannon, Christopher, Bryan, Tyson, John, Nicholas and Julia. Also surviving are her sisters, Anna Cianflone of Rome, Italy, Maria Scarcella of Winnipeg and family members, Carmelo Vinci and Maria Colocino of Amato, Italy. She will be missed by many cousins and nieces and nephews. Prayers will be said on Thursday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 6 at 11:00 a.m. also in the church with Reverend Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding at the Eucharist. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Eternal Memories, 1501 Waverley St. Pallbearers will be Thomas De Nardi, Martino Vergata, Ralph Cantafio, Ian Smith, Raymond Cosentino, Lino Scarcella, Christopher Vergata, Bryan Smith, and Tyson Smith.
