LYDIA REDEKOP Peacefully into the loving arms of her Saviour, on April 2, 2001 at Concordia Hospital, Lydia Redekop of Winnipeg died at the age of 71 years. She is survived by one daughter Karen Schmidt of Morden and her children, Naomi of Toronto, Becky (Jeff) Derksen with their daughter Emily of Reinfeld, and Johanna of Winnipeg; three sons, David (Violet) and their children, Rhae Lynne and Nathan, Edward (Adina) and their children, Vanessa and Stephen, all of Winnipeg, Erich (Deborah) and their children, Odessa and Nathaniel of Calgary; brother George (Helene) Wiebe of Winnipeg, and sisters, Irma (Ed) Buckler of Winnipeg Beach, and Alice Pound of Winnipeg; sisters-in-law, Susan Schindle, Hilda (Leonard) Lage, Dagmar Redekop; brothers-in-law, Ike (Marge) Redekop, all of Winnipeg and Ralph Hedlin of Calgary, many nieces and nephews. Lydia was predeceased by husband Frank in 1995. Lydia enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was very active in her church and the community. For many years, Lydia arranged flowers, which she loved. She was also very fond of the lake. We will miss you dearly, and our pets will miss your special treats. Special thanks to the staff of N1 at Concordia Hospital for their loving care, as well as Doctors, Neufeld and Crow. We appreciate all those who made special visits. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 5 at 11:00 a.m. at North Kildonan Mennonite Church, 1131 Roch at Cheriton, with interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Viewing Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Highway, and at the church prior to the service. If friends desire, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, ON 109-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg R3E 0V9 or to Faith and Life Communications, 200-600 Shaftsbury Blvd, Winnipeg R3P 1J1.
