ETHEL MAE (NAN) HINCE (nee McGREGOR/MARTIN) It is with deep sadness the family announces the sudden passing of their beloved mother and Nan, Ethel Hince on April 2, 2001. Ethel will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Marilyn, son-in-law Earl Dudek, and much beloved granddaughters, Kimberly and Kristalee. Her daughter Heather, son-in-law Karl Kappel and their combined families. She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Martin and Lorraine Sutherland; her nieces and nephews; "adopted" granddaughter Valerica Boitiu-Dubois; as well as many close relatives and friends. Ethel was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Alexandrine Martin; her grandson Kevin Dudek; and longtime friend Pietro Talamini. Ethel was a hard working individual and held a variety of jobs, her last being with the Tri-Municipal Hospital until her retirement in 1985. She enjoyed her retirement years immensely, travelling extensively through Europe to visit with friends and family (particularly France). Ethel loved life, whether it was reading, playing cards, or cooking up a feast for the traditional New Years Day supper at her home, or the Thanksgiving Dinner at the cabin. Nan was most fond of company coming over for a meal or just to sit and visit. As a member of the Lions (Wednesday) Day Club, she met new friends and had many great experiences. Nan was an independent woman who lived life on her own terms. She had a strong will - as was evidenced by her successful determination to quit smoking upon her retirement. Nan loved large and was fiercely proud of her family. She also cherished her home and was able to remain in it until her passing. A celebration of Ethels life will be held on Saturday, April 7 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ethels name to a charity of ones choice. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
