JOHN PTASHNICK It is with sorrow that our family wishes to announce the peaceful passing of John Ptashnick in his sleep on Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at the Grace General Hospital at the age of 88 years. John is survived by his four brothers, Carl (Alice Porter), Joe (Ruth), Felix (Florence) and Max; one sister Josephine Bruchetta (Leno) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and life long friends from his hometown of Hodgson, MB. John was predeceased by his brothers, Mike, Frank and Paul and his sister Tessie. He spent his lifetime dedicated to his General Store as well as 50 years of service to the Grey Goose Bus Lines. His talent was finding something broken and thought by most to be worthless, and with his hands, tools and scraps he collected, fixing it like new and selling it in his store. He always came to visit with stories of his findings and a little treat from his store. In compliance with Johns wishes, no formal service will be held. John will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a hard worker and always ready and willing to give when called upon by those in need.
