GUDRUN INGIBJORG JONSSON (nee NORDAL) Passed away at the Oakview Place Personal Care Home on Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at the age of 90 years, Gudrun (Runa) Jonsson of Winnipeg, MB. Runa was predeceased by her husband Jon in 1965; by an infant son Raymond; and by her sisters, Agnes Evans and Helga Johnson; brothers, John and Elmer Nordal. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter Linda Sutherland and husband Allen; grandchildren, Kevin of Toronto, John (Debbie) of Calgary; and Lori of Vancouver; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Jake of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Runa was born on March 1, 1911 in the Bru district where she was raised and attended Oliver School. On September 24, 1938, she and Jon were married and moved to Winnipeg. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose life centered around her family. The family sincerely thanks the nurses and caregivers of Oakview Place for their many acts of kindness and the respect given to her over the years. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 9, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. in the Bru Cemetery, Cypress River, MB, with Rev. Marilyn Matson officiating. Reception to follow at Cafe Bru. Friends who so wish, memoriams may be made to the Bru Cemetery Fund in care of Wallace Johnson, Cypress River, or a charity of their choice.
