FRANK SCHOEN On Thursday, April 5, 2001 at his residence in Winnipeg, Frank Schoen, aged 73 years. Frank was born in Kovine, Yugoslavia and immigrated to Canada in 1951 along with his parents. He lived in Selkirk for most of his life until moving to Winnipeg ten years ago. In Selkirk he worked at several firms, mostly in heating and plumbing. Frank was predeceased by his youngest son Hermann in 1979, his mother Elizabeth in 1969 and his father Peter in 1995. Frank is survived by son Oscar of Toronto, daughter Irmgard, and his only grandson Dale, both of Abbotsford, BC. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and friends. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, with Pastor Stan Richards officiating. Private family interment in the Selkirk Lutheran Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruno, Oscar, Chris, Steve, Emil and Ernst. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit care of the Selkirk and District General Hospital or to a charity of your choice.
