Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANK MIKOLAYENKO Peacefully on Friday, April 6, 2001, Frank Mikolayenko passed away at the age of 82 years, at the Concordia Personal Care Home. He was predeceased by his wife, Louise in 1981 and brothers and sisters: Theresa, Julia, Bill, John, Michellina and Sr. Georgia (Caroline). Frank will be lovingly remembered by his children, Victor (Chris), Muriel Barbour and Richard; grandchildren, Wesley, Burton, Aubrey (Lizette), Ian and Janel; great-granddaughter Gabrielle; brothers, Mike, Walter and Peter as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was born in Trembowla, Poland and was proud of his Ukrainian Heritage. He emigrated with his family to Canada in 1930. They settled in Ethelbert, MB. Frank became a school teacher, earning his B.A. from the University of Manitoba, and was dedicated to his profession until his retirement in 1973. He loved family, including his many return visits to Ethelbert. Prior to his illness in 1997, he enjoyed cooking, especially preparing breakfast for his children and grandchildren every Saturday. He also enjoyed bowling and had a great passion for picking berries and wild mushrooms. He was a member of Holy Eucharist Church and was an active member in the East Kildonan Council of the Knights of Columbus at St. Alphonsus Parish. Frank and his family appreciated the devoted care he received at Riverview Health Centre and at Concordia Hospital and Personal Care Centre. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Interment in the Garden of the Old Rugged Cross in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
