DR. BRIAN JAMES BURROWS It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden and untimely death of Dr. Brian James Burrows, who died at his home on the evening of April 5, 2001. Brian was born on March 5, 1942 in Winnipeg. He grew up in St. Vital on Dunkirk Drive, where he formed his life-long friendship with "The Owls". He graduated Dentistry with a D.M.D. from the University of Manitoba in 1965. He practiced with the Fort Rouge Dental Group for 30 years. He was a perfectionist when it came to providing care to his patients. He also enjoyed the camaraderie of his colleagues at the monthly Dental Study Club. He married Margaret Burrows (nee Albertson) in October of 1966. He was a gentle and loving husband and soul mate to Margaret. Their 35-year marriage was filled with laughter and warmth, as they were not only husband and wife, but also best friends. Brian was a caring and patient father. He was proud of his children, Jeff and Jennifer, who could not have asked for a better dad. The joys of his life included his cottage on Clearwater Bay, where he would fish with his friends and family, sit on the deck to read, blueberry pick, and swim. He also enjoyed long walks with his dog. He was an avid Sci-fi reader, had a thirst for knowledge and, more recently, crossword puzzles. He was an expert Bridge player and had recently taught his daughter and her fiance to play. He was well known for his quick wit, endless wisdom and generous spirit. He was a good and loyal friend to all who knew him. He is predeceased by his father Cecil, in 1975 and his mother Evelyn, in 2000. He is survived by his devoted wife, Margaret; his son, Jeff (Heidi) daughter Jennifer (Rob) sister-in-law Joan and her husband, Leo; his nephews, Grant and Dean; numerous cousins and friends; and his faithful dog, Ripley. His passing has left a terrible void in our lives, but his memory will be forever in our hearts where we cherish him. We are richer for having known him. His life was too brief, but we wouldnt have missed it for the world. Honourary pallbearers are: Leo, Bill, Brian, Bob, Dave, Bob, Howard, and Harry. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 11 at 10:00 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels 669 Broadway. For friends who so wish, a memoriam may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or the Humane Society. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
