Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAUDREY ANN VIDDAL (nee DAVIS) With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Audrey Ann Viddal, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was called home by her Lord and Saviour on April 4, 2001. Audrey was born in Makaroff, Man., on March 26, 1938, the second of five children of Jack and Vera Davis. She received her schooling to Grade 11 at Makaroff School. She taught on permit for one year at Clanwilliam School before completing Grade 12 at Kelvin High School. After completing Teachers college she married Charles Viddal on June 27, 1959, and joined him on the St. James teaching staff. They took up residence on Olive Street in Winnipeg, where in 1964 she gave birth to her first son Kirk John, followed in 1965 with a daughter Rae-Ann Marie. In September 1966 the Viddals moved to Atikokan where Charlie accepted a teaching position. One year later, in 1967, she gave birth to her youngest son Brett Charles. Audrey remained home for the next several years watching her children grow. She then returned to teaching and supply teaching on a part-time basis. She devoted much of her time to Zion Lutheran, and later Faith Lutheran Sunday School as Superintendent and was a committed member of the Lutheran Womens Missionary League as well as active community volunteer. This was between driving the kids to hockey, piano, skating and dance classes. Through the years Audrey was involved in numerous organizations. At the time of her passing, she was Secretary for the Faith Lutheran Church Council as well as for Lutheran Life, congregational rep for the Lutheran Air Missionary Pilots and the Lutheran Laymens League, member of the Lutheran Church choir, Lions community calendar chairperson as well as being very enthusiastic about her internet business "Peoples Way." Audrey loved to travel and spent a lot of her free time at the cabin, attending conventions, retreats and visiting with her many friends and relatives. She loved dancing and was a perfect partner for her husband Charles. She loved playing cards, especially with her bridge group, and it was never too late for a friend to call or visit. She had formerly served as the secretary for the Atikokan & District Association for the Developmental Services and the Lions Club. She was predeceased by her parents Jack and Vera Davis. She leaves to mourn Charles, her devoted husband of nearly 42 years; her children, Kirk (Laurie) Viddal, Rae-Ann (Steve) Friesen and Brett Viddal; her grandchildren, Stephen Friesen, Dylan and Tyler Viddal and Brendan Viddal; her sister Betty (Chester) Rudd and brothers, Ernie (Gwen) Davis, Allan Davis and Ray (Georgia) Davis; her father-in-law John Viddal; brother and sisters-in-law, Terry (Karen) Viddal, Lori (Gary) Foy, Alita (George) Meyer and Kris Viddal as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Kirk Viddal, Brett Viddal, Chester Rudd, Ernie Davis, Allan Davis and Ray Davis. Honorary pallbearers are all of her friends and relatives. A smile was always her umbrella, and she never put off until tomorrow the hug she could give today. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 9 at Faith Lutheran Church in Atikokan, Ont. Interment to follow at Little Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Faith Lutheran Church Memorial Account, Lutheran Hour Ministries or Lutheran Womens Missionary League.
