Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMAN BAILIE Following a brief illness with cancer, Norman Bailie passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 7, 2001 at the age of 90 years, with his family present at his side. Norms memory will be forever cherished by Edith, his loving wife of 48 years; his son Brian (Marie) his daughters, Joan and son-in-law David Duncan, Cheryl and son-in-law Steve DuBois; and his precious granddaughter Meaghan Duncan. Norman was born in Winnipeg on November 15, 1910. He served overseas for the Canadian Armed Forces in the Second World War from 1943 to 1946. Upon returning home, he commenced employment with the Federal Government. He joined the Department of Immigration from 1948 to 1967, at which time he transferred to the Canadian Pension Plan until his retirement in 1975. He gave much of his spare time and talents working for various charities. He was an ardent motorsports fan and was especially fond of the Nascar racing circuit. In keeping with Norms wishes, a private family service has taken place. Our family wishes to express our deepest thanks to the 4 West nursing staff at the Grace General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Normans memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Foundation (Manitoba Division), 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. God looked upon His garden, And found an empty space. Then He looked down upon the earth And saw your tired face. He put his arms around you, And lifted you to rest, Gods garden must be beautiful For He only takes the best. He saw the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb. He closed your weary eyes And whispered "Peace be with you" It broke our hearts to lose you, But you did not go alone, For part of us went with you to Gods garden, your new home. "So long for now, We love you and well miss you" Your family, XO WOJCIKS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
