Kardash peacefully went home to be in the presence of the Lord on Saturday, April 7, 2001 in the arms of his mother, father and sister, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ernie was born April 21, 1950. He grew up on the farm and was schooled at Blaine Lake, SK, graduating in 1968. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science, Honours Degree and began working at the Saskatchewan Research Council. Ernie later obtained his Bachelor of Education degree and taught sciences in various high schools. Left to honour his life is his loving wife Diane; children, Larisa, Loreen and Renee; his parents, Bill and Agatha Kardash, sister Sharon Johnson and her sons Curtis, Kevin, Christopher and Colin, father and mother-in-law Charles and Phyllis Hedlin and family, as well as other cousins, relatives and many friends. Ernie had a special place in his heart for each person that God placed in his life. His life was one of deep love, dedication and faithfulness to God, to his family and to his friends. Ernie was a man of integrity, honesty, hard work, ambition and deep loyalty. He touched the lives of many and we are thankful for the special gift that God had given to each of us in Ernies life. There were many things that Ernie enjoyed. He loved his family and extended family and enjoyed times together with them. He was proud of his daughters and especially enjoyed the accomplishments of his girls in school, music and competitive swimming. He loved farming with his Dad, his ecology research, all aspects of nature, photography, gardening, hiking and singing. Ernies Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 10 at 2:00 p.m. in Word of Life Mission Church, 233 Third Street South in Niverville, Man. A Funeral Service and burial will follow in Saskatoon, Sask. Donations in Ernies memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Manitoba Division), 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, Man.
