WILLIAM H. MELVILLE (1908-2001) Dad passed away peacefully at Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 91 years. He is survived by four daughters, Linda Ladyman (Larry), Pat Howland of Abbotsford, Marilyn Melville (Austin) of Toronto and Nancy Penner of Calgary; as well as five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Clinton in 1970 and by his wife Margaret in 1982. Dad was born in the Bannerman area, attended Victoria School, then worked on the family farm until his marriage to Margaret Maloney in 1941. He worked as a milkman in Winnipeg for a short time, then volunteered for military service and graduated as a gunner with Flight 355 No. 4 Squadron RCAF in April, 1943. On returning from overseas, he farmed in the Belmont district until his retirement in 1968. He and Mom moved to Winnipeg where he was an active bowler at the Rossmere Bowling Lanes. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on April 12, at the Deer Lodge Centre Chapel. In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, donations may be made to a favourite charity. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the kind, dedicated staff at the Deer Lodge Centre. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
