MARGARET MITCHELL (nee FRASER) Peggy passed away at the Beverly Centre in Calgary, Alberta on March 15, 2001. Born Margaret Webster Fraser on May 5, 1920 in Gilbert Plains, Manitoba. She was the younger daughter of Lillis Maude Webster and Oliver Stanley Fraser. She leaves to mourn and to be lovingly remembered, her daughter Tanny (Tom) her sons, Fraser (Sonjia) and Kirk (Kathy) her grandchildren, Chad, Craig, Nolan, Kylie, Scott; and her sister, Doris MacDonell (Gordon) of Winnipeg. Peggy attended school in Gilbert Plains and received her nurses training in Neepawa and Winnipeg, from where she graduated with her R.N. in 1943. She had a great zest for life and her love of people was evident from her many years of nursing at the Calgary Childrens Hospital, and her work with the Alberta Nurses Association. In 1976 she received the Alberta Miller "Nurse of the Year" award, in recognition of her contribution to her profession. Her volunteer work was recognized by the Alzheimer Society of Calgary. Peggy donated her body for medical research and requested that no memorial service be held.
