JOSEPH WILLIAM (BILL) SLOVINSKY Suddenly, on April 9, 2001, Joseph Slovinsky, aged 82, passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. Joseph is survived by his family, his sister Margaret Dawson of Victoria, BC; daughters, Beverly (Adrian) Ras, Judy Macphail of Vancouver, BC, Valerie Mike and Eileen (Darryl) Shepherd; son Alvin (Kathy) Slovinsky; grandchildren, Lisa, Sheryl, Andy, Jennifer, Mary-Anne, Peter, Pamela, Sean, David, Suzanne, Adam and Kenzie; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Ariel, Brendan, and Alexandria; niece Juanita (Bill) Nastiuk and family. Joseph was predeceased by his wife Hannah; brothers, Peter and Walter; sisters, Nellie and Katie. Joseph served in in the Second World War with Princess Patricia Light Infantry from 1940 to 1942 and as a Merchant Marine from 1942 to 1948. He married in 1949 and had five children. He remarried in 1973 to Hannah. Joseph worked for Bell Foundry and then T. Eaton Co. for 33 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 81. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit, St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Josephs memory to either CancerCare Manitoba, P.O.
