JOHN P. KOTOWICH On Wednesday, April 11, 2001, John Kotowich, age 66 years, passed away at the Health Sciences Centre. John was born in Sapton, MB in 1934. He was educated in Sapton and Zora Schools. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife Rosalie Blanche (Moss) of 33 years of marriage, (wed on the eve of Canadas Centennial June 30, 1967) his brother Matthew; sister Olga Lebitt; one half-sister Mary Shea; nephews Lucian, Chris and Greg and his pet cat Corwena. He was predeceased by his parents Philip and Anna; one sister Sophie (Sister Sabina, S.S.M.I.) in July of 2000 and three half-sisters Jessie Gradley, Stephanie Bruce and Antonia Kotowich. When John was 14, he planted Spruce Trees at Cooks Creek Cemetery, among his other accomplishments he worked on the Grotto under the direction of Fr. Ruh. He had his own farm at Cooks Creek. He loved working with wood, painting, sketching, embroidery and cooking. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brother Matthew. John belonged to the I.O.F., and the West End Senior Centre. He was foreman at Manitoba Cabinet and designed chesterfield suites. He was custodian at Charleswood United Church and worked as Maintenance Man at Assiniboine S. School Division No. 3. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses and staff at MICU and GH4 Palliative Care Unit at Health Sciences Centre. Special thanks to Lori Lynn, Jennifer and Gailene for their special care, the VONs Sonya and Marcie, and Home Care worker Mrs. Barbara Chomik. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 14 at 11:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with viewing prior to service. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Johns pallbearers will be his nephews and Home Care workers. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Johns close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Johns memory to Manitoba League of Persons with Disabilities, 200-294 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, R3C 0B9 or CancerCare Manitoba, P.O.
