ARTHUR GEORGE LUSH 1899-2001 Suddenly but peacefully, Arthur Lush passed away at home on Sunday, April 1, 2001 at the wonderful age of 101 years. Dad was born in London, England on December 14, 1899 and came to Canada as a young boy. His active business years were spent in association with the automotive industry and he latterly served as a manufacturers representative for Wilson Sporting Goods and other golf related equipment. Golf was Dads life pleasure and his happiest times were spent on the golf course at St. Charles Country Club where he had maintained his membership since 1937. As an active Shriner, Arthur served as Potentate of Khartum Temple in 1943, was instrumental in the building of the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children on Wellington Crescent in 1946 and was elected President of the Midwest Shrine Association in 1955. Predeceased by his beloved wife Elizabeth (Betty) in 1968 and son Garnet in 1991, he is survived by his daughters, Shirley and Marjorie (Donald) Eckert and his much loved grand-children and great-grandchildren. A private family burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials to the Salvation Army or St. Andrews River Heights United Church Foundation, 255 Oak St., Winnipeg, R3M 3P7 would be greatly appreciated by his family. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
